Lions Club of Kandana Ja-ela hosted Beach Clean Up Campaign that took place on the 16th of July 2019 at the Kepungoda Beach was a collaboration with Other Lions Clubs It was a Joined Project. Volunteered by Lions. The Beach was a in a terrible state with debris and garbage all over - garbage that was been churned out from the canal outlet right next to this point in the beach. There was a lot of non-biodegradable waste scattered all over the beach and this event was an eye opener to all who attended. From Plastic Bottles to Cups, wrappers, straws etc to hazardous items such as syringes and used contraceptives and hygiene products, the attendees started cleaning up all that we could.
