Hunger Project for Deserved Families
From the guidance of Lion Gerad caldera, I had organized a hunger project for deserved families which was held on 28th of July 2019 at Grand Reception Hall, Grandpass. This was a special project because Zone chairperson Lion Diluka Mahawatte also attended this special occasion. Many of the lions also participated in this donation campaign For the success of this occasion my Father also helped with this program.
I served 20 families who are deserved with foods. I have personally researched the background of these persons so I chose these people to be gifted by dry rations. From these selections of families, there is a one-family with a heart patient and he is very old looking after his wife and widow daughter with his grandchildren from his salary, And another family who is looking after his family and widow daughter and grandchildren, Pregnant Families, Destitute Families. In the Dry rations Pack Hiru Samba Rice of 5KG, Dhal 1KG, 500g of Gram dhal, 1 Kg of Potatoes, 1kg Of Onions, 1Kg of white Sugar, 250g of Tea leaves, Packet of Special Noodles was included. For All, It had cost me Rs.35,400/= and it had helped 600 Beneficiaries and Lions and others have Spent 24 Hours in total. All the Lions and Visiting lions and Zone chairperson helped me in this on the distribution of these packs to the deserved families. It was a great project to serve the community as we could by sharing our valuable time and wealth to help them build a nation with strong families.
